CERTIFICATION PROCESS

We’re pleased to offer a “grandfathering” process for current certification holders to transfer their existing remodeling credentials into our updated certification program. This process and development have been approved by the Education Committee, which has Workforce Development Council support, and the Executive Committee.

Here’s how it works:

1. Submit your application: Complete the application form and attach a copy of your current remodeling certificate.

2. Pay the Fee: There is a one-time fee of $250 for this grandfathering process for members and $550 grandfathering process for non-members.

3. Verification and Issuance: Once your certification is verified, we will issue you a new identification card, which will serve as your official credential under the updated program.

Approved individuals will receive a wallet ID card (unapproved example below), and the certification will be valid for three years.

While this is only the beginning of our path to an accredited program in 2025, we’re setting the foundation by focusing on policies and procedures for certification committees. These committees will support the development of a robust continuing education process and a competency—and time-based path to certification, all in alignment with the ANSI accreditation standards.

This grandfathering process is a straightforward way to ensure you retain your certification status as we move toward these exciting advancements. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
